Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 2/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system centred near Adelaide is moving eastwards and will be centred over Victoria tonight. The high will then remain over Victoria during Sunday and for the first half of next week as frontal systems pass to the south.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayVery cold at first with widespread inland frost. Local morning fog. Scattered showers and local hail on and south of the ranges becoming isolated from the west and contracting to the coast at night. Dry and mostly sunny on the northern plains. Showers falling as snow down to 600 metres at first lifting to 1000 metres in the afternoon. Light to moderate southwesterly winds, fresh at first about the Gippsland coast.Sunday 3 AugustVery cold at first with widespread severe frosts inland and fog patches in the east. Isolated early morning showers near the Gippsland coast. A fine and sunny afternoon throughout. Light winds.Monday 4 AugustVery cold at first with widespread inland frost and fog patches in the south and east. A fine, cool and mainly sunny day with light and variable winds.Tuesday 5 AugustMorning inland frost and local fog. A generally fine day but the chance of light showers about the west coast and the South Gippsland coast. A cool and mostly sunny day inland with generally light winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Saturday.Product IDV10310
