MELBOURNE - Jul 27/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system will move slowly eastwards across New South Wales and weaken during Monday. A vigorous westerly airstream is expected to develop over much of NSW from Tuesday associated with a broad low pressure trough to the south of Australia. A strong cold front will cross the state during Thursday and Friday. Forecast for the rest of MondayPartly cloudy in the south. Mostly sunny throughout the remainder. Early fogs and frosts inland. West to northwest winds, fresh and gusty at times in the southeast.Tuesday 29 JulyIsolated showers developing over the southern Alps and southwest slopes, falling as snow about the Alpine peaks. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Early frosts inland, mainly in the north. West to northwest winds, becoming strong and gusty over the southeast of the state.Wednesday 30 JulyScattered showers over the western slopes of the central and southern ranges, with snow falling about the Alpine peaks. Mostly sunny elsewhere. West to northwest winds, fresh and gusty over the southern ranges.Thursday 31 JulyScattered showers extending throughout the southern inland, with isolated showers also developing across the eastern part of the southern ranges and south coast. Snow initially about the Alpine peaks, then lowering to around 1200m during the day.
