Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 24/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the central Tasman Sea is moving east and an associated ridge over northeastern New South Wales is weakening while a low pressure trough approaches from the west. The trough will clear the state later on Saturday follow by another high pressure system The next front is expected to move through on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers on the western slopes of the Alps with snow showers above about 1500 metres. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Northeast to northwesterly winds, shifting more westerly near the SA border through the afternoon.Friday 25 JulyPartly cloudy in the northwest, in the far northeast and on the south coast. Isolated showers elsewhere with snow showers on the Alps above 1500 metres. Early fog and frost patches on the tablelands. North to northwesterly winds, freshening about higher ground during the day, tending westerly in the west.Saturday 26 JulyPartly cloudy in the western half and on the south coast. Isolated showers in the remainder tending scattered in the northeastern inland. Snow on the Alps above 1400 metres. The chance of thunderstorms in the northeast. Early fog and frost patches on the tablelands. Northwest to southwesterly winds, gusty about higher grounds.Sunday 27 JulyThe chance of snow showers on the southwestern Alps. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Early frosts on the slopes and ranges.. Southwesterly winds in the east, tending light and variable in the west.Monday 28 JulyMostly sunny throughout. Early frosts inland.
