Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 24/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low just west of Robe will weaken as it moves southeastwards to be centred over Bass Strait by Friday night. A high pressure ridge will develop over the north of the State during Friday, then move slowly east during the weekend and early next week.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers over the agricultural area and West Coast district, increasing to scattered showers about the southeast and the ranges south of about Clare. Possible thunderstorms about the coasts west of about Eyre Peninsula and Kangaroo Island. Cool with light to moderate north to northwesterly winds, turning west to southwesterly in the west.Friday 25 JulyIsolated showers over of the agricultural areas and southern parts of the Flinders and Pastoral districts, increasing to scattered showers about the southeast and the ranges south of about Clare, all easing and contracting to southern coasts and ranges later in the day. Morning fog and frost, mainly across the north. Cool to mild with light to moderate west to southwesterly winds.Saturday 26 JulyPossible light showers about southern coasts and ranges clearing by evening. Morning fog. Early morning frost patches, most likely in the Flinders and Pastoral districts. Cool to mild with light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds.Sunday 27 JulyFine. Early morning frost, mainly about the Flinders and southern parts of the Pastoral districts. Cool to mild with moderate northerly winds.Monday 28 July
Fine apart from possible showers about southern coasts. Cool to mild with light to moderate north to northwesterly winds, freshening about the coasts.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday to midnight Monday are expected to mostly occur before the weekend with about 5 to 15 mm over the southern agricultural area and west coast, increasing to 15 to 40 mm about the Mount Lofty Ranges and Lower South East. Totals of less than 5 mm are expected over the remainder of the agricultural area, Flinders and far south of the Pastoral districts.
Tuesday until ThursdayFine and cool to mild over the Flinders and Pastoral districts with southwesterly winds becoming light and variable. A series of fronts are expected to move over the south bringing fresh to strong west to southwesterly winds and showers to the agricultural areas.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Friday.Product IDS10033
