Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 21/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the southwestern Tasman Sea will produce light winds and dry weather for the south and west of NSW until late Wednesday. On late Wednesday a front will enter the west of the state, with the wind turning moderate to fresh northerly throughout NSW by Thursday and some showers extending across to the western slopes of the ranges. Snow is expected in the south above elevations of about 1500 metres. As the front moves into the Tasman Sea on Friday, the wind will turn northwesterly and showers will become restricted to the western slopes and largely clear by the end of the day. West to southwest winds and mostly dry weather expected on Saturday as a dry airstream feeds into a low developing in the southern Tasman Sea.

Early frost about the ranges and western slopes, mainly in the south. Areas of morning fog in the south and east of the state. Becoming mostly sunny in the south and west. East to southeasterly winds near the coast, with light and variable winds inland.Wednesday 23 JulyThe chance of showers on the northern coastal fringe and patchy rain developing in the southwest later. Cloud increasing elsewhere. Early frost patches on the tablelands, and areas of morning fog in the east. Rain increasing on western parts of the southern and central ranges and adjacent slopes, with snow developing above about 1500 metres. Partly cloudy in the northwest. North to northwesterly winds, shifting more westerly over the inland through the day.Friday 25 JulyIsolated showers west of the Divide, more widespread over the Riverina and South West Slopes district at first, but clearing during the day.
