Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 21/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system 1027 hPa centred over eastern Victoria will be slow moving, and expected to be centred over the Tasman sea on Thursday. A trough of low pressure will move into the west of the State on Wednesday and over the eastern districts on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayAreas of cloud with possible isolated light showers west of about Adelaide to Leigh Creek, clearing later in the evening. A cool evening with light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds.Tuesday 22 JulyPatchy rain developing west of about Coober Pedy to Streaky Bay from late morning, increasing to areas of rain west of about Ceduna. Cold early with morning frost patches on and east of the ranges. Possible morning fog patches over the southeast. A cool to mild day with light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds.Wednesday 23 JulyPatchy rain in the west extending over the remainder southwest of Oodnadatta to Marree, increasing to areas of rain about the West Coast, Eyre Peninsula and central districts. Possible isolated thunderstorms about the West Coast and Lower Eyre Peninsula. Cool in the south grading to mild in the north. Light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds, fresh at times during the afternoon, turning moderate to fresh west to southwesterly in the west.Thursday 24 JulyAreas of rain southeast of Streaky Bay to Hawker contracting to the southeast in the evening. Isolated showers south of Coober Pedy following the rain, scattered about the western coast of Eyre Peninsula. Possible isolated thunderstorms about southern Yorke Peninsula, Kangaroo Island and southern Eyre Peninsula. Cool with moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly winds, tending light variable about the South East districts.Friday 25 July
Scattered showers about the western coast of Eyre Peninsula and about southern coasts and ranges, easing to isolated showers by evening. Isolated showers over the remainder of the agricultural area and southern parts of the Flinders and Pastoral districts. Possible thunderstorms about southern coasts during the early morning. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday to midnight Friday are expected to be 10 to 20 mm about west coast, agricultural areas and far south of the Northwest Pastoral, reaching 20 to 35 mm about western parts of Eyre Peninsula and southern parts of the Mount Lofty Ranges. 2 to 10 mm over the remainder southwest of Ernabella to Yunta. Less than 2 mm to the northeast.
Saturday until MondaySlight chance of showers over the southern agricultural area on Saturday, contracting to southern coasts on Sunday and Monday. Cool to mild with light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Tuesday.Product IDS10033
