Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 20/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over southeastern Australia is very slowly moving east. This high will position over the southwestern Tasman Sea on Tuesday and then it will continue to move slowly east maintaining a ridge to northeastern New South Wales. The next trough and frontal system are expected to move through the state during Thursday and Friday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers on the northern and central coasts and adjacent ranges, scattered at first about the coastal fringe. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Early frost areas inland and local fog patches. South to southeasterly winds near the coast, and light variable winds inland.Tuesday 22 JulyIsolated showers about the northern coast and adjacent ranges, more likely along the coastal fringe. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Early frost about the ranges and western slopes, mainly in the south, and local morning fog patches. East to southeasterly winds near the coast, and light variable winds inland.Wednesday 23 JulyThe chance of showers on the northern coastal fringe and patchy rain developing in the southwest later.Cloud increasing elsewhere. Early frost patches on the tablelands, and areas of morning fog in the east. LIGHT Variable winds, turning northerly in the west.Thursday 24 JulyPatchy rain developing across the south, easing to showers in the southwest during the day, though possibly extending to remaining eastern districts later. Rain increasing on western parts of the southern and central tablelands and adjacent slopes, with snow developing on the Alps. Partly cloudy in the northwest. North to northwesterly winds, shifting more westerly over the inland through the day.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Monday.Product IDN10031
