Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 20/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system 1027 hPa centred over eastern Victoria will be slow moving, and expected to be centred over the Tasman sea on Thursday. A trough of low pressure will move into the west of the State on Wednesday and over the eastern districts on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayPossible isolated showers extending from the west over areas to the west of about Adelaide to Leigh Creek, before clearing by evening. Possible isolated morning thunderstorms about the West Coast district west of Ceduna. Cold early with isolated morning frost patches over eastern districts. A cool day with light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds.Tuesday 22 JulyPatchy rain developing west of about Coober Pedy to Ceduna from late morning. Cold early with morning frost patches about northeastern Riverland, the Flinders and Northeast Pastoral districts. Cool to mild with light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds.Wednesday 23 JulyPatchy rain in the west extending over the remainder southwest of Oodnadatta to Marree, tending to areas of rain about Eyre Peninsula. Possible isolated thunderstorms about the West Coast west of Streaky Bay. Cool in the south grading to mild in the north. Light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds, fresh at times during the afternoon, turning moderate to fresh west to southwesterly in the west.Thursday 24 July
Areas of rain southeast of Streaky Bay to Hawker contracting to the southeast in the evening. Isolated showers south of Coober Pedy following the rain, scattered about the western coast of Eyre Peninsula. Possible isolated thunderstorms about Yorke Peninsula, Kangaroo Island and southern Eyre Peninsula. Cool with moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly winds, tending light variable about the South East districts.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday morning to midnight Thursday are expected to be 10 to 20 mm about western and central districts south of Woomera, reaching 20 to 30 mm about western parts of Eyre Peninsula. 5 to 10 mm over the remainder southwest of Ernabella to Yunta. Less than 5 mm to the northeast.
Friday until SundaySlight to medium chance of showers south of Woomera, contracting south to the southern coasts by Sunday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Monday.Product IDS10033
