Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 20/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system near New Zealand is moving east as a high extends across southeastern Australia. This high will remain the dominant feature in the region during the next few days as it shifts very slowly towards the Tasman Sea. The next trough and frontal system are expected during the second half of the week.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers along the coastal fringe north of Nowra, tending scattered in the vicinity of Port Stephens. Fine elsewhere. Southerly winds in the east, and generally light winds inland. Dangerous surf conditions along central and northern parts of the coast.Monday 21 JulyIsolated showers on the northern and central coasts and adjacent ranges, scattered at first about the coastal fringe. Fine elsewhere, although some areas of high cloud developing. Early frost areas inland, widespread about the ranges and western slopes, and local morning fog patches. South to southeasterly winds near the coast, and light variable winds inland.Tuesday 22 JulyIsolated showers about the northern coast and adjacent ranges, more likely along the coastal fringe. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Early frost about the ranges and western slopes, mainly in the south, and local morning fog patches. East to southeasterly winds near the coast, and light variable winds inland.Wednesday 23 JulyPatchy rain developing in the southwest during the afternoon, more likely near the Victorian border. The chance of showers on the northern coastal fringe. Fine elsewhere, although areas of high cloud developing. Early frost patches on the tablelands, and areas of morning fog in the east. Generally light and variable winds, turning northerly in the west during the afternoon.Thursday 24 JulyPatchy rain developing across the south, easing to showers in the southwest during the day, though possibly extending to remaining eastern districts later. Rain increasing on western parts of the southern and central tablelands and adjacent slopes, with snow developing on the Alps. Fine in the northwest. North to northwesterly winds, shifting more westerly over the inland through the day.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EST Monday.Product IDN10031
