MELBOURNE - Jul 19/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A strong, slow-moving high pressure system is moving over southeastern Australia strengthening a ridge across New South Wales. The high will move over the southwestern Tasman Sea on Tuesday and the ridge across the state will weaken allowing a cold front to move through during during Thursday and Friday. Behind he front another high pressure system is expected to move over the western parts of the state on Saturday. Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers along the coastal fringe north of Nowra, tending scattered in the vicinity of Port Stephens. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Early frost areas inland, widespread about the ranges and western slopes. Southerly winds in the east, fresh to strong at first, and generally light winds inland. Dangerous surf conditions, easing in the south.Monday 21 JulyIsolated showers on the northern and central coasts and adjacent ranges, scattered at first about the coastal fringe. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Morning frost areas inland, widespread about the ranges and western slopes. Local morning fog patches. South to southeasterly winds near the coast, and light variable winds inland.Tuesday 22 JulyIsolated showers about the northern coast and adjacent ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Early frost about the ranges and western slopes, mainly in the south. East to southeasterly winds near the coast, and light variable winds inland.Wednesday 23 JulyIsolated showers developing in the southwest, more likely near the Victorian border. The chance of showers on the northern coastal fringe. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Early frost on the tablelands.
