MELBOURNE - Jul 17/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front that moved across the south this morning has moved over the eastern states. A high pressure system will develop over the northern Bight on Friday and then move slowly eastwards to be centred near Mt Gambier on Saturday then over eastern Victoria by late Sunday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayScattered showers about the southern agricultural area easing to isolated showers during the evening. Isolated showers over the remainder of the agricultural area, Flinders district and far south of the pastoral districts. Possible isolated thunderstorms about the Lower South East with a chance of small hail. Cool to cold with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds, strong and gusty about southern coasts and ranges, easing during the evening.Friday 18 JulyPossible isolated showers over the agricultural area and west coast. Patchy morning fog in the west. Morning frost patches in the south, then a cool day with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Saturday 19 JulyPossible isolated showers about Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East coast. Areas of morning frost in the south, then a cool day with light winds, becoming moderate northeast to northerly in the west.Sunday 20 JulyPossible isolated showers about the Nullarbor Plain. Morning frost patches in the south, then a cool day with light to moderate northeast to northerly winds.Monday 21 July Possible isolated showers developing about the West Coast district, Eyre and Yorke Peninsulas and Kangaroo Island. Morning frost patches about central and eastern parts then a cool day with light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday evening until midnight Monday are expected to be less than 2 mm, although local falls of 2 to 5 mm are possible about southern coasts and ranges.
