MELBOURNE - Jul 13/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high over Victoria will move eastwards over the next 24 hours with relatively light winds and a frosty night expected tonight. Cloud will increase across the state from tomorrow as a mid level trough approaches, and this should increase overnight temperatures for the next few days. Some patchy rain is expected from this cloud in the west of the state by the end of tomorrow. The system will move eastwards on Tuesday, and interact with a moist northerly stream from Queensland, resulting an increase in rain across the western slopes and ranges on Tuesday and Wednesday. Snow is likely in the south above about 1300 to 1400 metres. Another low pressure trough will bring further precipitation and some colder air again to the south on Thursday and Friday. Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers along the northern coast, more widespread about the Port Stephens to Forster area. Possible isolated showers about exposed parts of the southern coast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds, fresh along the coast in the north and far south.Monday 14 JulyIsolated showers along the coast, more frequent along the northern coastal fringe. Light patchy rain developing in the far west during the day. Becoming cloudy over the ranges and western slopes. Widespread morning frosts and patches of fog about the ranges and in the west. Southeast to northeast winds inland, south to southeast winds along the coast.Tuesday 15 JulyScattered showers along the coast. Patchy rain in the west, increasing along the ranges, western slopes and northeastern inland during the afternoon and at night. Snow above about 1500 metres by the end of the day. North to northeast winds.Wednesday 16 JulyFine in the west. Rain areas in the east, mostly clearing during the afternoon although some residual showers continuing on the south and central western slopes of the ranges. Snow above 1300 metres in the south. Northwest to southwest winds.Thursday 17 JulyCool to cold on the slopes and ranges with scattered showers clearing during the day. Fine and mild remainder.
