MELBOURNE - Jul 12/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the Bight will move over western Victoria late on Sunday and slowly cross the State during Monday. The high will reach the Tasman Sea on Monday evening as the next cold front moves over the Bight. The cold front will slip across Victoria and Tasmania early Wednesday as a stronger cold front develops south of the Bight. Forecast for the rest of SundayA cold morning inland with widespread frosts. A cool afternoon, sunny in the north but partly cloudy in the south with isolated showers near the coast. Light to moderate south to southwesterly winds.Monday 14 JulyA cold morning with frost and fog areas inland. A cool afternoon with cloud increasing from the west. Isolated showers developing over the northwest during the evening. Light winds.Tuesday 15 JulyCloudy with patchy rain developing from the north and west during the day, and becoming more extensive over the northeast. Remaining dry over Gippsland. Snowfalls down to 1400 metres. Cool with a moderate northerly winds, fresh at times in the south.Wednesday 16 JulyAreas of rain about the northeast at first, easing during the morning. Isolated showers over remaining southern and mountain districts, though mostly dry over Gippsland. Showers increasing over the southwest during the late afternoon and evening. Snowfalls down to 1200 metres.
