Australia -- Queensland Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 12/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high will drift eastwards across Victoria early in the new week. An upper level trough will push into southwestern Queensland on Sunday and then stall in the region. The upper trough, along with an associated surface trough, should start to move eastwards across the southern districts from Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine and clear over most of the state. Light to moderate southwest to southeast winds, fresh at times near the coast.Sunday 13 JulyFine, sunny and dry across most of the state except for some patchy light rain developing over the Channel Country and some isolated light showers about the North Tropical Coast. Widespread morning frost over the central interior, southern interior and southeast districts.Monday 14 JulyThe high should move eastwards across Victoria, and will push some isolated showers onto Queensland's east coast. The upper level trough should extend some patchy light rain over the state's interior. Areas of morning frost over the southern and southeast interior.Tuesday 15 JulyThe high should weaken as it moves into the Tasman Sea, but will nonetheless still push showers onto the east coast and into parts of the eastern interior. Patchy areas of mainly light rain and the chance of some thunderstorms over the southern interior associated with the upper and surface troughs. Fine and dry elsewhere.Wednesday 16 JulyAn onshore wind flow should still push some showers onto the east coast. The upper trough, and associated shower and possible storm activity, should move eastwards across the southeast of the state, before clearing offshore late in the day.Thursday until SaturdayA new high should move into the Great Australian Bight late in the week, pushing cooler, drier air across Queensland. Fine, dry and sunny across most of the state. Gusty, chilly winds about the southeast of the state on Friday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EST Sunday.Product IDQ10700
