MELBOURNE - Jul 11/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weakening high pressure system lies over northern New South Wales. A cold front will bring a south to southwesterly change to southern and central NSW today, particularly affecting the southeast, with scattered showers and further snowfalls on the ranges. The front will reaching the north and weaken tomorrow, and a strong high pressure system south of the Bight will move slowly east. The high is expected to be centred over southeast NSW Monday night then move further east over the southern Tasman Sea Tuesday and Wednesday as an upper level trough likely brings some patchy rain to parts of NSW. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers developing across southern and central districts during the day, more widespread in the southeast. Showers easing in the south during the afternoon. Snow on the southern ranges lowering to about the 800 metre level by the end of the day, and isolated snow showers to about 1100 metres on the central ranges this evening. Early frost about the northern ranges and northern inland. Westerly winds freshening and turning cold, fresh and gusty southwesterly over southern and central parts, strong in the southeast and along the coast.Sunday 13 JulyScattered showers along the northern and central parts of the coast. Fine elsewhere. Early frosts over the ranges and west slopes. Southwest to southeast winds, fresh and gusty along the coast.Monday 14 JulyIsolated showers along the coast. Patchy rain developing in the northwest during the day. Widespread morning frosts about the ranges and in the west.
