MELBOURNE - Jul 11/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front over southern coasts will move northwards over the State during Friday evening and early Saturday. A high pressure system will move to the south of the Bight during Saturday, to be centred east of Tasmania on Tuesday. Another front will move into the west of the State on Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of FridayScattered showers over the southern agricultural area, increasing to widespread about southern coasts and ranges. Isolated showers extending over the northern agricultural area during the evening. Cool to cold with moderate to fresh west to northwesterly winds, shifting southwest to southerly over the southern agricultural area.Saturday 12 JulyAreas of frost over the Pastoral and Flinders districts. Isolated showers over the agricultural area, scattered early morning. Possible showers over remaining parts south of about Leigh Creek. Possible early small hail over the South East district. Cool to cold with moderate southwest to southeast winds.Sunday 13 JulyCold to very cold early with widespread frost over the agricultural area, Flinders district and south of the Pastoral districts. Possible isolated early showers near the Lower South East coast. Patchy rain developing northwest of about Coober Pedy to Oodnadatta. A cold day with mainly light winds.Monday 14 JulyEarly frost over eastern districts. Areas of rain north of about Woomera, gradually easing. Patchy rain extending further south to areas north of about Renmark to Elliston. Cold to very cold with light to moderate northeast to northerly winds.Tuesday 15 July Patchy rain over the North East Pastoral, with isolated showers over the remainder. Cool to cold with moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds, shifting southwesterly in the west during the day. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday afternoon until midnight Tuesday are expected to be 5 to 15 mm over the southern agricultural area, increasing to 15 to 25 mm near southern coasts and ranges. 1 to 5 mm is expected over the remainder. Wednesday until FridayShowers increasing over the agricultural area as a series of cold fronts move over the State from the west. Possible showers extending further inland over the south of the Pastoral districts.
