MELBOURNE - Jul 11/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front south of the Bight is moving northeastwards and is expected to reach southwestern Victoria this evening then cross to the east of the State early Saturday. A high pressure system will cross Bight waters on Saturday before moving over western Victoria late on Sunday and gradually crossing to the east of the State during Monday. The next cold front will cross the Bight to approach western Victoria Tuesday night. Forecast for the rest of FridayScattered showers in the southwest and about the dividing range, spreading to central areas this evening. Fresh northwesterly winds, strong and squally about the coast and ranges before a late colder southwesterly change in the southwestern district.Saturday 12 JulyScattered showers, tending to rain areas over parts of Gippsland and Central Victoria during the morning but becoming isolated from the west and clearing over inland areas during the afternoon. Hail possible with the showers. Snowfalls down to 700 metres. Cold with fresh southwesterly winds, easing later over the west.Sunday 13 JulyA cold morning inland with frosts. Isolated showers in the south and east contracting to the coast. A cool afternoon, sunny in the north but partly cloudy in the south. Light to moderate southwest to southerly winds.Monday 14 JulyA cold morning with frost and fog areas. Isolated coastal showers clearing by the afternoon. A cool and partly cloudy afternoon with light winds.Tuesday 15 JulyCloud increasing with patchy rain developing across most districts during the day, mainly in the northeast. Snowfalls down to 1400 metres.
