Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 11/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea is moving steadily east, while a high pressure ridge over central Australia pushes into New South Wales. This ridge will be short-lived, however, as the next cold front will affect the region during Saturday. Following this, the next high is expected to strengthen on approach and should establish itself as the dominant synoptic feature early in the new week.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers on western slopes of the southern ranges and southeastern parts of the Riverina, with snow showers above 1300 metres. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. West to northwesterly winds, fresh at times in the south and east.Saturday 12 JulyScattered showers developing across the southern and central inland, and the south coast, becoming more widespread in the southeast. Snow showers on the southern ranges lowering to about 800 metres during the day, clearing from late evening. Showers extending to central parts of the coast later in the day. Early frost on the northern ranges and in the northwest. Westerly winds freshening and turning cold, strong and gusty southwesterly as a front moves across central and southern parts of the state.Sunday 13 JulyScattered showers along the northern and central parts of the coast. Fine elsewhere. Early frosts over the ranges and west slopes. Southwest to southeast winds, fresh and gusty along the coast.Monday 14 JulyIsolated showers along the coast. Patchy rain developing in the northwest during the day. Widespread morning frosts about the ranges and in the west. Southeast to northeast winds inland, south to southeast winds along the coast.Tuesday 15 JulyScattered showers along the coast, and scattered showers or patchy rain over the west, with more isolated shower activity along the ranges.
