Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 10/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the north of the state is moving eastwards. A cold front will move across the south late Friday and early Saturday. A high pressure system will move to the south of the Bight late Saturday and then move eastwards to be centred east of Tasmania late Monday. An upper level trough will move across the State during Sunday and the early part of next week.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers near southern and western coasts. Cool to cold with light to moderate southwest to northwesterly winds.Friday 11 JulyIsolated showers over the agricultural area, scattered at times near southern coasts and ranges, increasing to scattered throughout the southern agricultural area late afternoon or evening. Showers increasing to widespread about southern coasts and ranges from late afternoon. Cold early over the Pastoral, Flinders and Riverland districts with frost patches. A cool day with light to moderate west to northwesterly winds, freshening near southern coasts, shifting southwesterly in the south late afternoon or evening.Saturday 12 JulyEarly frost patches over the Pastoral and Flinders districts. Isolated showers over the agricultural area, with possible showers over remaining parts south of about Leigh Creek. Possible early small hail in the Lower South East. Cool to cold with moderate southwest to southeast winds.Sunday 13 JulyCold early in the east with areas of frost. Possible isolated early showers near the Lower South East coast. Areas of rain developing in the far northwest. A cool to cold day with mainly light winds.Monday 14 July
Areas of rain north of about Woomera, gradually easing. Patchy rain extending further south to areas north of about Port Augusta. A cool to cold day with light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday afternoon until midnight Monday are expected to 5 to 10 mm with the rain in the north of the State. 5 to 15 mm is expected over the southern agricultural area, increasing to 15 to 25 mm near southern coasts and ranges. 1 to 2 mm is expected over the remainder.
Tuesday until ThursdayThe slight chance of showers on Tuesday. Showers increasing over the agricultural area on Wednesday and Thursday as a series of cold fronts move over the southern half of the State. Cool to cold with moderate to fresh northwest to southwest winds, fresh to strong at times over the southern agricultural area.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Friday.Product IDS10033
