MELBOURNE - Jul 8/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high over southeastern Queensland combined with a very dry airmass is maintaining fine weather throughout Queensland. A cold front will move rapidly eastwards across Queensland during Wednesday, producing a dry wind change; warmer northwesterly winds will develop ahead of this feature, with cooler southwesterly winds returning following its passage. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayFine and sunny throughout the state. Widespread morning frost over the south, and also over parts of the central and northern interior. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds, tending northwesterly over the far west.Wednesday 9 JulyA cold front will move across Queensland, producing gusty westerly winds and a new influx of cool, dry air across the southern districts. It should remain fine and sunny across the state. Areas of frost over the central and southeast interior.Thursday 10 JulyA new high pressure system over central Australia should maintain fine, dry and cool conditions across most of the state, and push cool, gusty westerly winds over the state's southern districts. Widespread morning frosts over the interior.Friday 11 JulyThe high pressure system should drift slowly into southeast Queensland, maintaining the fine, dry and cool conditions. Widespread morning frosts over the southern and central interior.Saturday until MondayA new large, slow moving high pressure system over southern Australia should maintain fine conditions across most of the state. Winds are expected to tend a little more onshore about the east coast, and a few light showers may return to more exposed parts in the tropics, gradually spreading further south.
