MELBOURNE - Jul 8/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front approaching from the west will cross the State overnight and Wednesday morning. An associated low pressure system will pass just to the south of Victoria during Wednesday and early Thursday. Another cold front is expected reach far western Victoria Friday night. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated morning fog in the east. Drizzle patches about the northeast ranges in the morning, falling as snow above 1500 metres. Isolated light showers possible over northern districts this morning, but dry elsewhere. A cool to mild and partly cloudy day. Fresh northerly winds, becoming strong and gusty over western and central districts and also over the eastern ranges.Wednesday 9 JulyScattered showers extending from the west with snowfalls lowering to 900 metres. Only isolated showers in the far north and remaining fine over East Gippsland. Cool to cold with moderate to fresh northerly winds shifting westerly in the west later in the day.Thursday 10 JulyScattered showers on and south of the ranges, gradually easing from the west, only isolated showers over the northwest. Showers falling as snow above 1000 metres, rising to 1200 metres later. Cool to cold and with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds.Friday 11 JulyScattered showers developing in the west then extending throughout during the afternoon, although remaining fine over East Gippsland.
