Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 7/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A ridge of high pressure over eastern Victoria will weaken as it moves slowly east. The first of a series of cold fronts will approach western Victoria later Monday, but will slide away to the south of the State early on Tuesday. Subsequent cold fronts are expected to cross Victoria on Wednesday and Friday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayDrizzle patches about the northeast ranges, falling as snow above 1500 metres. Partly cloudy with moderate to fresh north to northwest winds.Tuesday 8 JulyDrizzle patches about the northeast ranges in the morning, falling as snow above 1500 metres. Isolated showers developing in the west in the afternoon. A cool and mostly cloudy day, although mild in the far northwest. Moderate to fresh northerly winds, strong and gusty at times in the southwest.Wednesday 9 JulyScattered showers extending from the west with snowfalls lowering to 900 metres. Only isolated showers in the far north and remaining fine over East Gippsland. Cool to cold with moderate to fresh northerly winds shifting westerly in the west later in the day.Thursday 10 JulyScattered showers on and south of the ranges, gradually easing from the west, only isolated showers over the northwest. Showers falling as snow above 1000 metres, rising to 1200 metres later. Cool to cold and with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds.Friday 11 JulyScattered showers developing in the west then extending throughout during the afternoon, although remaining fine over East Gippsland. Cool with moderate to fresh northwesterly winds shifting southwesterly from the west later.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Tuesday.Product IDV10310
