Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 5/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system is crossing the Bass Strait and it will move over the southwestern Tasman Sea later tonight and weaken on Sunday as a high pressure system moves over northern New South Wales extending a ridge to the east. The next cold front will cross the state during Wednesday and another high pressure system is expected to move behind the front over southeastern Australia on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers over southeastern inland tending scattered on the Alps with snow showers above about 1200 metres. Mostly clear remainder. Moderate to fresh westerly winds, becoming strong about the southern and central ranges.Sunday 6 JulyPartly cloudy in the far northern inland and on the north and central coast and adjacent ranges. Isolated showers elsewhere. Snow above 1200 metre level on the southern ranges, and possibly on the central ranges later. Cold and fresh southwesterly winds.Monday 7 JulyIsolated showers and morning drizzle about the western slopes of the southern ranges, contracting to the south. Snow showers on the Alps. Mostly clear elsewhere. Fresh west to southwesterly winds, tending northwesterly in the west.Tuesday 8 JulyIsolated showers on the western slopes of the southern ranges with snow showers above 1400 metres. Mostly clear elsewhere. West to northwesterly winds becoming freshening n the west.Wednesday 9 JulyIsolated showers in the southern and central inland tending scattered on the western slopes of the southern ranges with late snow showers above 800 metres. Partly cloudy in the remainder. Fresh north to northwesterly winds turning cold westerly in the southwest later.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EST Sunday.Product IDN10031
