MELBOURNE - Jul 5/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A surface trough will contract off the southeast coast of Queensland early Saturday morning. A high pressure system over South Australia will move slowly eastwards over the interior of the continent over the next few days and will push dry, cool air across much of Queensland over the weekend and well into next week. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayScattered showers about the far southeast of the state, clearing during the early morning with fine and sunny conditions spreading from the west. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere with only isolated light showers about the far northeast coast. Moderate to fresh southeast to southwest winds.Sunday 6 JulyA new high over South Australia will push dry air across Queensland. Fine and sunny across the state except for some isolated light showers about the far north coast. Widespread frost over the central, southern and southeast interior.Monday 7 JulyThe high will drift eastwards across southern Queensland maintaining fine, dry and sunny conditions across the state. Widespread morning frost over the central, southern and southeast interior.Tuesday 8 JulyA ridge of high pressure should persist over southern Queensland maintaining fine and sunny conditions across the state except for some isolated showers about the northeast coast. Widespread morning frost over the central, southern and southeast interior.Wednesday until FridayAnother high should stretch across southern Australia and will push more dry air into Queensland, maintaining fine and dry conditions across most of the state.
