Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 3/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over central New South Wales will move northeastwards to be centred over the far northeast of the state tonight with morning frost and fog the main feature of the weather tomorrow morning. The high will weaken and move further east during the day tomorrow as a weakening low moves to the vicinity of western Bass Strait and an associated cold front crosses western New South Wales later tomorrow. The front and low are expected to move further east over the weekend with showers increasing about the western slopes of the ranges and further snowfalls about the ranges likely.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayCloudy over the eastern Riverina and southeastern parts of the Central West Slopes and Plains. Otherwise sunny. Light and variable winds, tending moderate north to northeasterly in the west and south.Friday 4 JulyIsolated showers developing over the southern inland later with a little snow on the Alps. Morning frost and fog areas on the ranges and in the east, otherwise mostly sunny. Moderate to fresh northwest winds.Saturday 5 JulyIsolated showers from the Riverina through to western parts of the southern and central ranges, more widespread and increasing to rain at times about the western slopes of the southern ranges with snow on the Alps above about 1200 metres. Mostly sunny remainder. Morning fog and frost on northern and central ranges. Moderate to fresh westerly winds.Sunday 6 JulyIsolated showers on and west of the ranges, more widespread about the western slopes of the southern and central ranges. Snow to about the 1200 metre level on the southern ranges, and possibly on the central ranges later. Isolated afternoon showers possible about central and southern parts of the coast. Cool to cold, moderate to fresh southwest winds.Monday 7 JulyIsolated showers about the western slopes of the southern and central ranges, with snow to about the 1200 metre levels over the Alps. Isolated showers along the coast. Moderate to fresh southwest winds, tending northwest later in the west of the state.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EST Friday.Product IDN10031
