MELBOURNE - Jul 3/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high over the east coast will move slowly eastwards to be over waters east off Brisbane on Friday. A low south of the Bight will move eastwards to be centred over the Tasman Sea on Saturday, as another high moves over the north of the State. A weak front will move over the south of the State early on Sunday, followed by another front moving over western and southern coasts later on Monday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers developing near southern and western coasts during the evening. Cool with light to moderate northerly winds, fresh in the south, ahead of a southwesterly change over western parts of the State.Friday 4 JulyScattered showers about southern coasts and ranges and the Lower South East district. Isolated showers over the remainder of the agricultural area. Showers contracting southwards during the afternoon and evening. Possible early thunder near the Lower South East coast. Cold in the north early with frost patches in the Riverland, Flinders and Pastoral districts. Early fog patches in the North West Pastoral south of Coober Pedy. Cool with moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly winds, fresh to strong near the coasts, easing in the west.Saturday 5 JulyIsolated showers chiefly over the southern agricultural area, scattered in the Lower South East in the morning. Early frost over the Pastoral and Flinders districts, with early fogs over the Flinders and south of the North West Pastoral. Cool with moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds, turning northerly in the west.Sunday 6 JulyScattered showers near southern coasts and ranges, easing during the morning. Isolated showers over the remainder of the agricultural area. Showers contracting eastwards during the afternoon and clearing throughout by evening. Early frost patches over the Pastoral and Flinders districts. Cool to mild with mainly light winds turning moderate north to northwesterly in the west.Monday 7 July Fine and mild with freshening northerly winds, until isolated showers develop near southern and western coasts in the afternoon or evening. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday afternoon to midnight Monday are expected to be 0 to 2 mm about western coasts, the northern agricultural area and southern parts of the Pastoral districts, 2 to 15 mm over the southern agricultural area and isolated falls of 15 to 25 mm about southern coasts and ranges and in the Lower South East. Tuesday until ThursdayThe chance of isolated showers over the Flinders and south of the Pastoral districts, increasing further south to be a very high chance of showers near southern coasts and ranges, before easing throughout on Thursday.
