Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 1/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system lies over South Australia and is directing a generally southwesterly airstream over New South Wales. The high pressure system will move slowly east to be centred over New South Wales by Wednesday night. The high will weaken late in the week, and a low will move to the vicinity of Bass Strait by Friday, with an associated frontal system expected to cross New South Wales during Friday and Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayLight showers or drizzle over the far south of the southwest slopes. Mostly clear along the coast and in the north, partly cloudy over the southern inland . Light to moderate southwest winds.Wednesday 2 JulyEarly morning drizzle for the southern parts of the southwest slopes. Fine, partly cloudy over the southern inland, mostly sunny elsewhere. Morning frost areas, widespread about the ranges. Patchy morning fog on and west of the ranges. Light to moderate southwest to southeast winds.Thursday 3 JulyMorning frost and fog areas along the ranges and western slopes and plains, otherwise mostly sunny. Light and variable winds, tending moderate northerly in the far west.Friday 4 JulyIsolated showers developing over the southern inland, more frequent along the western slopes of the southern ranges. Periods of snow developing over the southern Alps above about 1400m. Isolated showers over the far north coast. Areas of morning frost along the ranges, otherwise mostly sunny conditions elsewhere. Moderate to fresh north to northwest winds, turning west to southwest in the far west during the day.Saturday 5 JulyIsolated showers in the east of the state, more frequent along the central and southern parts of the western slopes and ranges. Snow showers on the southern Alps above about 1200m. Moderate to fresh west to southwest winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EST Wednesday.Product IDN10031
