Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 30/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system lies over South Australia and is directing a generally southwesterly airstream over New South Wales. The high pressure system will move slowly east to be centred over New South Wales by Wednesday night. A low will then move to the vicinity of Bass Strait by Friday, with an associated frontal system crossing New South Wales during the day on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayAreas of drizzle along the western slopes of the southern and central ranges, falling as snow above about 1400 metres. Morning frost areas, more widespread about the ranges. Moderate to fresh southwest winds.Wednesday 2 JulyIsolated light showers possible about the far southern Alps, falling as snow about the peaks. Fine, mostly sunny elsewhere. Morning frost areas, widespread about the ranges. Patchy morning fog west of the ranges. Light to moderate southwest to southeast winds.Thursday 3 JulyMorning frost and fog areas along the ranges and western slopes and plains, otherwise mostly sunny. Light and variable winds, tending moderate northerly in the far west.Friday 4 JulyIsolated showers developing over the southern inland, more frequent along the western slopes of the southern ranges. Periods of snow developing over the southern Alps above about 1400m. Isolated showers over the far north coast. Areas of morning frost along the ranges, otherwise mostly sunny conditions elsewhere. North to northwest winds, turning west to southwest in the far west during the day.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Tuesday.Product IDN10031
