MELBOURNE - Jun 30/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high north of the Bight will continue to move eastwards across South Australia today, to be centred over NSW on Wednesday. A front will move across the State during Thursday and Friday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayPossible isolated showers over the southern agricultural area, more likely about the coasts and ranges. Early morning fog patches. Cool to mild with light winds.Wednesday 2 JulyEarly morning fog patches over Eyre Peninsula and the southeast. Fine day. Cool to mild with light winds.Thursday 3 JulyIsolated showers extending from the west to reach about Mt Gambier to Clare to Ceduna by late evening and becoming scattered about Kangaroo Island and the southern extents of the peninsulas. Possible isolated late thunderstorms over the far south of Eyre Peninsula and over Kangaroo Island. Mild at first with fresh northerly winds ahead of a cooler southwesterly change over western parts of the state, fresh to strong at times about western coasts.Friday 4 July Scattered showers over the southern agricultural area contracting east and becoming isolated during the day. Isolated showers elsewhere over the agricultural area contracting south and easing. Possible isolated thunderstorms south of about Adelaide contracting east and clearing during the day. Cool with moderate to fresh southerly winds extending throughout during the morning. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday afternoon to midnight Friday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm about the northern agricultural area east of Port Augusta, 2 to 10 mm over the southern agricultural area and western coasts and less than 2 mm elsewhere. Falls over southern coasts and ranges are expected to increase to 10 to 20 mm. Saturday until MondayPossible isolated showers over the southern agricultural area , more likely about the southern coasts and ranges contracting south and clearing Sunday evening. Fine on Monday. Cool at first, then becoming mild in the west on Monday. moderate southwest to southerly winds turning northerly in the west on Sunday then extending through during Monday.
