MELBOURNE - Jun 28/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front and low pressure system moving into the Tasman Sea will produce a cold, vigorous southwesterly airstream across Victoria . Another weaker front will move across southern Victoria on Monday as a strong high pressure system builds over the Bight. The high will move slowly eastwards and will be located over southeastern Australia by Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SundayShowers near and south of the ranges, tending more isolated over the northwest. Local hail possible in the west and south. Isolated thunderstorms near the Gippsland and Central coast. Snowfalls above 1000m, lowering to 800 metres at night. A cold day with fresh to strong west to southwesterly winds, moderating in the afternoon and evening.Monday 30 JuneMorning frost patches in the north. Isolated showers in southern and mountain areas, more widespread near the coast. Snowfalls above 800 metres in the morning, rising to 1300 metres in the afternoon. A cold day with moderate west to southwesterly winds, fresh near the coast.Tuesday 1 JulyIsolated showers in southern and mountain areas, more widespread in the far east. Snowfalls above 1400 metres. A cool to cold day with light to moderate west to southwesterly winds, fresh about the coast.Wednesday 2 JulyMorning fog patches inland. Isolated morning showers possible in the southeast and on the ranges, otherwise fine.
