Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 28/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
An intense low 988 hPa centred south of Mount Gambier is moving east and will be over Tasmania by this evening. Further fronts will move over the southeast of the State on Sunday and Monday followed by a high moving over the Bight later on Monday. Another front will move across the State on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayScattered showers over the agricultural area with small hail. Showers widespread and locally heavy near southern coasts and ranges. Isolated showers over areas south of about Leigh Creek. Possible isolated thunderstorms over the South East district. Cool to cold. Fresh to strong and gusty southwesterly winds, reaching gale force near southeastern coasts.Sunday 29 JuneScattered showers over the agricultural area, with isolated showers over the Riverland district and south of the Pastoral districts. Possible small hail over central and eastern districts south of about Clare. Cool to cold with fresh southwesterly winds, strong near southern coasts.Monday 30 JuneIsolated showers over the agricultural area and west coast, tending scattered over the southern agricultural area, particularly about the gulf coasts. Isolated morning fog patches. Cool with moderate south to southwest winds, fresh near southern coasts.Tuesday 1 JulyPossible isolated showers over the southern agricultural area, more likely near the coasts. Isolated morning fog patches. Cool to mild with light winds.Wednesday 2 July
Possible isolated showers about southern coasts on Wednesday. Morning fog patches over the southeast. Cool to mild with light winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday to midnight Wednesday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm over the agricultural area, with less than 2 mm further north. 10 to 20 mm is expected over parts of the southern agricultural area, particularly about the coasts along northern Spencer Gulf and Gulf St Vincent with falls of 20 to 40 mm possible on the ranges and coastal parts of the South East district.
Thursday until SaturdayIsolated showers extending from the west on Thursday, to be over the agricultural area on Friday, then contracting to southern coasts on Saturday. Fresh northerly winds, shifting southwesterly and becoming fresh to strong about southern coasts then easing on Saturday. Mild at first, becoming cooler with southwesterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Sunday.Product IDS10033
