Weather Situation A cold front will move rapidly eastwards across Queensland today, pushed across by a strong new high over Western Australia. The high should drift eastwards across southern Australia during the week. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayMainly showers and thunderstorms over the southeast during the afternoon and evening; a few of these storms may be severe with damaging winds. Fine, dry and sunny over the remainder of the state except for some isolated showers about the remainder of the east coast. Moderate south to southeast winds in the north. Moderate to fresh northwest to southwest winds over the southern half of the state.Fire Danger - Very High over parts of the southern interior.Sunday 29 JuneThe high over southwest Australia will push cool and dry winds across most of Queensland. Fine and sunny across the state except for some isolated showers along the far northeast coast. Patches of early morning frost about the southern interior.Monday 30 JuneThe high over southern Australia will maintain fine, dry and sunny conditions across Queensland, apart from isolated light showers near Torres Strait. Widespread morning frost over the central, southern and southeastern interior.Tuesday 1 JulyThe high over southern Australia should continue pushing dry air across Queensland, so conditions should be fine and sunny throughout, except for some isolated light showers near Torres Strait. Areas of morning frost over the central, southern and southeastern interior.Wednesday until FridayThe high should drift gradually across southeastern Australia, keeping most of Queensland fine, dry and sunny. Isolated showers should develop about most of the east coast late in the week as winds tend more onshore.
