Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 27/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front will cross Victoria on Saturday with an associated low pressure system expected to move across Tasmania on Saturday night. A cold, vigorous southwesterly airstream will develop in the wake of this system which will ease on Monday as the low moves further into the Tasman Sea and a strong high pressure system builds in the Bight. The high will move towards Adelaide later on Monday and Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayScattered showers, tending more isolated over the far southeast and more widespread over the northeast. Isolated thunderstorms and local hail possible. Snowfalls lowering to 1000 metres. A cool to cold and mostly cloudy day with fresh to strong and gusty northwesterly winds shifting westerly over western and central districts in the afternoon and evening.Sunday 29 JuneShowers near and south of the ranges, tending more isolated over the northwest. Isolated thunderstorms with local hail possible. Snowfalls lowering to 800 metres. A cold day with fresh to strong west to southwesterly winds, moderating in the afternoon and evening.Monday 30 JuneScattered showers in southern and mountain areas, with isolated showers possible further north. Snowfalls above 900 metres in the morning, rising to 1400 metres in the afternoon. A cold day with moderate west to southwesterly winds, fresh near the coast.Tuesday 1 JulyIsolated showers mainly in the south and more widespread in the southeast. Snowfalls above 1500 metres.
