Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 27/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
An intense low 984 hPa centred south of Mount Gambier is moving east and will be near Tasmania on Saturday evening. A vigorous cold front will move over the south of the State early Saturday. Further fronts will move over the southeast of the State on Sunday and Monday followed by a high moving over the Bight later on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayScattered showers over the agricultural area with small hail. Showers widespread and locally heavy near southern coasts and ranges, contracting southwards during the day. Isolated showers extending further north over areas south of about Leigh Creek. Isolated thunderstorms over the agricultural area, contracting to the South East district during the afternoon then clearing in the evening. Cool to cold. Fresh to strong and gusty northwest to southwesterly winds, reaching gale force near southern coasts.Sunday 29 JuneScattered showers over the agricultural area, with isolated showers over the Riverland district and south of the Pastoral districts. Possible small hail over the South East and Murraylands districts. Cool to cold with fresh southwest to southerly winds, strong near southern coasts.Monday 30 JuneIsolated showers over the agricultural area, tending scattered over the southern agricultural area. Cool with moderate south to southwest winds, fresh near southern coasts.Tuesday 1 July
Possible isolated showers over the southern agricultural area, more likely near the coasts. Cool to mild with light winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday morning to midnight Tuesday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm over the northern agricultural area, with less than 2 mm further north. 10 to 20 mm is expected over the southern agricultural area, increasing to 20 to 40 mm on the ranges and about southern coasts. Falls of 40 to 60 mm are possible about the Mount Lofty Ranges and near coastal parts of the South East district.
Wednesday until FridayPossible isolated showers about southern coasts on Wednesday, fine Thursday, then isolated showers about western and southern coasts on Friday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Saturday.Product IDS10033
