Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 24/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
Lows passing to the south of Tasmania and associated fronts crossing southern NSW will result in strong, cool to cold westerly winds over southern and central parts of the state until Friday, lighter winds and milder conditions are expected in the north under the influence of a high pressure ridge. On Friday another cold front will enter the far west of the state bring more cold conditions over the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers along the western slopes of the central and southern ranges, more widespread in the south but easing during the day. Snow showers above 1200m over the southern ranges. Partly cloudy over the remainder of the inland, mostly sunny along the coast. West to northwest winds, fresh to strong and gusty along the ranges and reaching gale-force in the southeast.Thursday 26 JuneMorning frost on the northern ranges. Isolated showers along the western slopes of the central and southern ranges, more frequent in the south, with snow showers above 1400m. Partly cloudy elsewhere in the southern inland. Mostly sunny in the north and along the coast. West to northwest winds, fresh to strong and gusty along the ranges.Friday 27 JuneMorning frost on the northern ranges. Isolated showers along the western slopes of the central and southern ranges, more frequent in the south, with snow showers above 1600 metres. Late showers developing in the far southwest. Partly cloudy in the south, mostly sunny in the north. Fresh north to northwesterly winds.Saturday 28 JuneIsolated showers on the ranges, slopes, and southern inland, more frequent in the south, falling as snow above 1000 metres. Fresh and gusty north to northwesterly winds turning more westerly during the day.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Wednesday.Product IDN10031
