Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 21/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
An intense low will develop well south of the Bight on Sunday and move eastwards during Monday. An associated vigorous cold front will move over the west of the State on Sunday and the remainder on Monday. A series of cold fronts will then move over southern parts of the State through the middle of the week.
Forecast for the rest of SundayAreas of patchy morning fog near and east of the ranges. Possible morning frost over the Flinders and the south of the Northeast Pastoral districts. Isolated showers extending over west coast during the afternoon then the southern agricultural area in the evening, increasing to scattered showers about southern coasts during evening. Possible thunderstorms over western Kangaroo Island late evening. Mild in the south grading to warm in the far northwest. Moderate to fresh northeast to northwesterly winds, shifting cooler west to southwesterly in the west in the afternoon or evening. Winds becoming strong and about the coasts and during the day and reaching Gale force at times about western coasts during the evening. Fresh to strong and gusty northerly winds about the ranges in the late afternoon and evening.Monday 23 JuneScattered showers over the southern agricultural area and south of the Flinders, with isolated showers over the northern agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts. Possible isolated thunderstorms and small hail south of about Ceduna to Renmark. Cool to cold with fresh to strong northwest to southwest winds, reaching gale force at times about southern coasts during the morning.Tuesday 24 JuneIsolated showers over the agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts, scattered about the southern agricultural area. Possible early small hail about eastern districts. Cool to cold with fresh to strong southwesterly winds reaching Gale force at times about southern coasts.Wednesday 25 June
Isolated showers over the agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts, becoming scattered about southern coasts during the afternoon and evening. Cool to cold with light to moderate northwest to southwesterly winds fresh in the south and becoming strong at times about southern coasts.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday morning to midnight Wednesday are expected to be 10 to 20 mm over the southern agricultural area, with local falls of 20 to 50 mm about the ranges and southern coasts. 2 to 10 mm is expected over the northern agricultural area and western districts with less than 2 mm elsewhere.
Thursday until SaturdayIsolated showers over the agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts, scattered at times over southern coasts and ranges. Cool to cold with moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly winds, strong at times about southern coasts.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Sunday.Product IDS10033
