Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 20/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak low pressure trough is crossing central New South Wales and weakening further and a weak high pressure ridge will form briefly across the state on Sunday before a strong cold front moves through on Monday. Behind the front another high pressure system is expected to move over southwestern Australia extending a ridge to the northeast of the state while series of cold fronts move to the south.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers in the northeastern and central parts mostly about the western slopes of the ranges. The chance of showers on the Alps or snow above 1600 metres. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Northwest winds, fresh and gusty in the east.Saturday 21 JuneIsolated showers in the in eastern half tending scattered on the western slopes of the southern ranges. Snow showers on the Alps above 1500 metres Partly cloudy elsewhere. West to northwesterly winds tending southwesterly in the west.Sunday 22 JunePossible isolated showers on the western slopes on the southern and central ranges. Snow showers the Alps above 1500 metres. partly cloudy elsewhere. Light and variable winds, tending west to northwesterly.Monday 23 JuneIsolated showers in the south tending scattered on the western slopes of the southern ranges. Snow developing on the Alps. Possible sleet/snow in the southeast above 900 metres. Partly cloudy in the north. North to northwesterly fresh to strong ahead of a gusty, cold westerly change in the west.Tuesday 24 JuneIsolated showers in the southeastern inland tending scattered on western slopes of the southern ranges. Snow on the Alps and possible in the areas above 900 metres in the morning. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
