MELBOURNE - Jun 19/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system off the northern NSW coast will move steadily east during Friday and Saturday as a weakening trough slowly crosses NSW. A weak high will form over NSW during Sunday before a major cold front crosses the state during Monday and Monday night, with cold, gusty westerly winds and snow on the southern ranges associated. Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers in the northeast third of the state, more likely about the western slopes of the ranges. Isolated showers about the western slopes of the far southern ranges with snow above 1600 metres. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Northwest winds, fresh and gusty in the east.Saturday 21 JuneIsolated showers in the in eastern half tending scattered on the western slopes of the southern ranges. Snow showers on the Alps above 1500 metres Partly cloudy elsewhere. West to northwesterly winds tending southwesterly in the west half.Sunday 22 JunePossible isolated showers on the western slopes on the southern and central ranges. Snow showers the Alps above 1500 metres. partly cloudy elsewhere. Light and variable winds, tending west to northwesterly.Monday 23 JuneIsolated showers in the south tending scattered on the Alps. Snow showers developing on the Alps. Partly cloudy in the north.
