MELBOURNE - Jun 19/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea will drift further eastwards tomorrow. A cold front over the Bight will reach western Victoria Friday night before weakening during Saturday as it crosses to central districts. On Sunday a strengthening cold front will move from the Bight region to approach western Victoria later in the day. This cold front will sweep through the State on Monday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayFine apart from a little drizzle possible about the northern slopes of the ranges. Moderate to fresh northerly winds, lighter in the southeast.Friday 20 JuneScattered showers over the southwest and about the northeast ranges, falling as snow above 1500 metres. Isolated showers elsewhere although fine over the far northwest and southeast. A cool day with moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds.Saturday 21 JuneIsolated showers over the northwest and East Gippsland with scattered showers over remaining districts. Showers falling as snow above 1500 metres. A cool day with moderate to fresh northwesterly winds tending west to southwesterly in the west and easing during the evening.Sunday 22 JuneIsolated showers over most areas but fine over the far southeast and northwest. Snow above 1600m. A cool day with a moderate to fresh northerly wind strengthening in southern and mountain areas at night.Monday 23 JuneShowers, particularly in southern and mountain areas. Local hail and thunder. Snowfalls developing down to 800 metres.
