Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 18/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system centred over southeast NSW will move slowly to the northeast today to lie off the north coast tonight. The high is expected to move further east tomorrow and Saturday as a fairly weak trough crosses the state slowly. A weak high is likely to affect NSW Sunday before a strong cold front crosses the state during Monday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers along the far north coast, and patchy drizzle about the adjacent ranges. Morning fog areas in central and eastern districts, widespread and more persistent about South West Slopes and Riverina. Fine and partly cloudy remainder. Early frost areas about the ranges. Light winds tending moderate north to northwesterly in the west and south.Friday 20 JuneIsolated showers developing across the eastern half of the state, more scattered on the western slopes of the central ranges. Snow showers on the higher peaks of the Alps. Fine and partly cloudy in the far west. North to northwest winds, becoming fresh to strong in the south and over the central ranges.Saturday 21 JuneIsolated showers in the northeast of the state and the southern inland, more scattered on the South West Slopes and falling as snow on higher ground in the Alps. Showers possibly extending further west to the Central West Plains and far south of the Lower Western districts. Mostly west to northwesterly winds tending west to southwesterly in the western half.Sunday 22 JunePossible isolated showers on the far north coast and in parts of the southern inland, falling as snow on the higher peaks of the Alps. Light and variable winds, freshening from the north in the far west.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Thursday.Product IDN10031
