MELBOURNE - Jun 18/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over northern Victoria will slowly move eastwards to reach the Tasman Sea on Thursday as a cold front crosses waters south of the Bight. The cold front will cross Victoria late Friday and during Saturday. On Sunday a strengthening cold front will move from the Bight region to approach western Victoria later in the day. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayFine apart from local fog over the northeast. Light winds.Thursday 19 JuneMorning fog and frost patches, mainly in the east. A cool and dry day with high cloud increasing from the west. Light to moderate northerly winds.Friday 20 JuneScattered showers over the southwest and about the northeast ranges, falling as snow above 1500 metres. Isolated showers over most remaining districts, but dry over the far northwest and over the southeast. A cool day with moderate to fresh northwest to northerly wind.Saturday 21 JuneScattered showers over southern and mountain districts except for isolated showers over East Gippsland. Also isolated showers over northern Victoria. Snow above 1500 metres. A cool day with moderate to fresh northwesterly winds tending west to southwesterly in the west and easing.Sunday 22 JuneScattered showers over the northeast ranges. Isolated showers over most other areas but fine over the far southeast and northwest. Showers increasing in the southwest later in the day. Snow above 1600m.
