Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 14/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system will deepen off the New South Wales south coast this evening then move eastwards later on Sunday as a cold front approaches western Bass Strait. The cold front will move across Victoria on Monday as a high pressure system crosses the Bight. The high will approach western Victoria on Tuesday before crossing the State on Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayScattered showers over central and and eastern districts tending isolated over the west. Showers tending to rain over East Gippsland. Showers and rain likely to be heavy at times over the southeast. Isolated thunderstorms possible over central and eastern districts. Snow developing above 1500 metres tonight. Moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds.Sunday 15 JuneRain areas over East Gippsland with locally heavy falls. Showers over remaining southern districts, more isolated over the southwest and falling as snow above 1500 metres. Showers contracting to the coast at night. Dry and partly cloudy north of the divide. A cool day with moderate southwest to southerly winds, fresh about the eastern ranges and coastal fringe.Monday 16 JuneMorning fog and frost patches over the northeast. Scattered showers developing over southern and mountain districts, with isolated showers extending to the north during the late morning and afternoon. Showers falling as snow above 1300 metres. Isolated thunderstorms possible about the western and central coasts. A cool to mild day with moderate to fresh west to northwest winds shifting southwesterly from the west.Tuesday 17 JuneScattered showers over the southeast. Isolated showers in remaining southern and mountain areas falling as snow above 1200 metres. Showers contracting to the southeast in the afternoon and becoming isolated. A cool day in the south and east, milder in the northwest. Freshening west to northwesterly winds shifting southwesterly and becoming strong near the coast.Wednesday 18 JuneMorning fog patches inland with morning frost about the northeast. Isolated showers clearing from the southeast by early afternoon. Otherwise a cool and partly cloudy day with light winds tending north to northeasterly over the west in the afternoon.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Sunday.Product IDV10310
