MELBOURNE - Jun 13/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A 1002 hPa low pressure system centred over the Mid North district will move northeastwards and gradually weaken during this afternoon and evening to be centred just south of Broken Hill around midnight. A high will develop over the south of Western Australia on the weekend then move southeastwards early next week. A front will move across southern coastal districts during Monday. Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers over the South East, increasing to scattered showers about the coast late evening. Scattered showers over the remainder of the agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts. Possible isolated thunderstorms over eastern parts of the agricultural areas. Isolated showers over remaining parts south of a line Coober Pedy to Leigh Creek. Cool to cold with fresh to strong south to southwest winds in the southwest, tending light to moderate southeast to northeast in the southeast and moderate to fresh northwest to southwest in the north.Saturday 14 JuneIsolated showers over the agricultural area and the south and west of the pastoral districts, increasing to scattered showers until early afternoon about the southern agricultural area and remaining coastal parts south of a line Ceduna to Port Augusta. Cool with moderate to fresh south to southwest winds, strong at first about southern coasts.Sunday 15 JuneScattered showers about southern coasts and western coasts south of about Elliston during the morning. Isolated showers otherwise over the agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts. Cool with light to moderate west to southwest winds, tending southerly in the north.Monday 16 JuneIsolated early fog about western and central districts. Scattered showers about southern coastal districts. Isolated showers over the remainder of the agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh northwest to southwest winds, tending light to moderate southerly inland.Tuesday 17 June Isolated early fog about western and central districts. Isolated showers about the southern agricultural area clearing during the evening. Cool to mild with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds in the east turning moderate northeasterly in the west. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday afternoon to midnight Tuesday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm over the agricultural area, increasing to 10 to 20 mm near southern coasts, about the Mid North and northern Mt Lofty Ranges. Less than 2 mm is expected over the remainder of the State. Wednesday until FridayFine on Wednesday.
