Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 13/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low 1000 hPa centred just south of Stenhouse Bay at 4 am Friday will move northeastwards and gradually weaken during today to be centred just south of Broken Hill around midnight. A high will develop over the south of Western Australia on the weekend. A front will move across southern coastal waters on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers over the southeast, tending scattered about the coasts late evening. Scattered showers over the rest of the agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts, with the chance of isolated thunderstorms. Isolated showers over remaining parts south of a line Coober Pedy to Leigh Creek. Patchy rain in the far northeast clearing by early afternoon. Cool to cold with fresh to strong south to southwest winds in the southwest, possibly reaching gale force about the Lower Eyre Peninsula coast, tending light to moderate southeast to northeast in the southeast and moderate to fresh northwest to southwest in the north.Saturday 14 JuneIsolated showers over the agricultural area and the south and west of the pastoral districts, increasing to scattered showers about the southern agricultural area and remaining coastal parts south of a line Ceduna to Port Augusta. Cool with moderate to fresh south to southwest winds, strong at first about southern coasts.Sunday 15 JuneScattered showers about southern coasts and western coasts south of about Ceduna during the morning. Isolated showers otherwise over the agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts. Cool with light to moderate west to southwest winds, tending southerly in the north.Monday 16 June
Scattered showers about southern coastal districts. Isolated showers over the remainder of the agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts. Cool with moderate to fresh northwest to southwest winds, tending light to moderate southerly inland.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday morning to midnight Monday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm over the agricultural area and far south of the Northeast Pastoral, increasing to 10 to 20 mm near western and southern coasts, over Eyre Peninsula and parts of the Flinders and Mid North districts, with possible falls of 20 to 40 mm over southern Eyre Peninsula. 1 to 5 mm is expected in the rain area in the far northeast. Less than 2 mm is expected over the remainder of the State.
Tuesday until ThursdayIsolated showers about the southern agricultural area clearing by Wednesday. Possible isolated showers developing about western coasts during Thursday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Friday.Product IDS10033
