Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 12/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system centred near Kangaroo Island extends a cold front over the west of the State. The low will move northeastwards during Friday to be centred over New South Wales by early Saturday. A high pressure system will develop over the south of Western Australia on the weekend. Another front will move across southern coastal districts on Monday ahead of the next high.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayScattered showers over the West Coast district, Eyre and Yorke Peninsulas, Kangaroo Island and parts of the Mount Lofty Ranges. Isolated showers over the remainder of the agricultural area and far south of the North West Pastoral district. Possible isolated thunderstorms near western coasts. Patchy rain in the far northeast. Cool to mild with mainly moderate northeast to northwesterly winds, shifting fresh southwesterly over western parts and strengthening near western coasts.Friday 13 JuneScattered showers over the agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts. Isolated showers over remaining parts south of a line Coober Pedy to Leigh Creek. Possible isolated thunderstorms south of a line Elliston to Whyalla to Yunta. Patchy rain in the far northeast clearing by early afternoon. Cool to cold with fresh to strong south to southwest winds in the southwest, tending light to moderate southeast to northeast in the southeast and moderate to fresh northwest to southwest in the north.Saturday 14 JuneIsolated showers over the agricultural area and the south and west of the pastoral districts, increasing to scattered showers about the southern agricultural area and remaining coastal parts south of a line Ceduna to Port Augusta. Cool with moderate to fresh south to southwest winds, strong at first about southern coasts.Sunday 15 JuneScattered showers about southern coasts and western coasts south of about Ceduna during the morning. Isolated showers otherwise over the agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts. Cool with light to moderate west to southwest winds, tending southerly in the north.Monday 16 June

Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday afternoon to midnight Monday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm over the agricultural area and far south of the Northeast Pastoral, increasing to 10 to 20 mm near western and southern coasts, over Eyre Peninsula and parts of the Flinders and Mid North districts, with possible falls of 20 to 40 mm over southern Eyre Peninsula. 1 to 5 mm is expected in the rain area in the far northeast. Less than 2 mm is expected over the remainder of the State.
Tuesday until ThursdayIsolated showers about the southern agricultural area clearing by Wednesday. Possible isolated showers developing about western coasts during Thursday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Friday.Product IDS10033
