MELBOURNE - Jun 10/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A strong high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea extends a ridge into northern New South Wales. As the high moves south of New Zealand and the ride weakens a cold front will cross the state during Friday and and a low will develop over the southwestern Tasman Sea on Saturday. This low is expected to move very slowly east over the next few days and another high pressure system is expected moves over southeastern Australia by Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers central and north coasts and adjacent ranges contracting north. Mostly clear west of the Divide. East to southeasterly winds, fresh along the northern coast.Wednesday 11 JuneIsolated showers along the coastal fringe in the north. Morning fog patches in the south and east, and early frosts on the tablelands. Mostly clear elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Thursday 12 JuneRain developing in the west. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Early fog patches in the south and east. Northerly winds ahead of a late south to southwesterly change in the far southwest.Friday 13 JunePartly cloudy in the northeast with isolated showers on the far north coast. Areas of rain elsewhere. Snow developing on the Alps later. Northerly winds in the northeast, with a coold south to southwesterly change extending across the remainder.Saturday 14 JuneRain areas in the east, contracting further east and isolated clearing showers in the central parts. Partly cloudy in the west. Snow on the Alps and possible snow/sleet on the central ranges above 1200 metres.
