MELBOURNE - Jun 10/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A ridge of high pressure will remain along the east coast over the next few days, though it will weaken from Thursday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayAreas of early rain about the Central Coast and the Herbert and Lower Burdekin regions, breaking up to showers during the day. Mainly isolated showers about the remainder of the state's far east. Fine and mostly sunny across the remainder of the state. Moderate south to southeast winds across the state, fresh to strong at times about the east coast.Fire Danger - High in the Central Highlands and Coalfields. Low to moderate over the remainder of the state.Wednesday 11 JuneA ridge should persist over eastern Australia, and will push mostly isolated showers onto the tropical east coast. Fine and mostly sunny across the interior with generally mild daytime temperatures.Thursday 12 JuneThe ridge over eastern Australia should weaken, and so will the associated onshore flow over Queensland's east coast, resulting in fine conditions along the east coast except for the chance of some isolated showers over parts of the far eastern tropics. Fine, mild and sunny over the rest of the state. Isolated areas of light frost about the Granite Belt.Friday 13 JuneA surface and upper trough should move eastwards across the state, producing isolated, mainly light showers over the interior. Becoming cooler and drier later in the day over the interior after the surface trough passes through. Showers redeveloping about the state's far east.Saturday until MondayMainly scattered showers across most eastern and eastern interior districts as the upper trough moves over the region late in the week.
