MELBOURNE - Jun 10/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A strong high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea extends a ridge northwards into New South Wales, and will remain the dominant feature in the region during the next few days. By Thursday the ridge is expected to have weakened considerably, allowing a cold front to move into the state from the southwest. This front appears likely to bring a brief period of unsettled weather before continuing to the Tasman Sea on the weekend. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers coast and adjacent ranges, tending scattered near the coastal fringe. Showers clearing from the south during the afternoon or evening. Fine and mostly sunny west of the Divide. Local early fog patches in the south and east. East to southeasterly winds, fresh along the northern coast.Wednesday 11 JuneIsolated showers along the coastal fringe in the north, clearing. Morning fog patches in the south and east, and early frosts on the tablelands. Fine and mostly clear elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Thursday 12 JuneRain developing in the southwest. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Early fog patches in the south and east. Northerly winds ahead of a late south to southwesterly change in the far southwest.Friday 13 JuneAreas of rain in the southwest, with patchy rain extending to the northwest and southeast of the state. Snow developing on the Alps later. Fine in the northeast, apart from the chance of showers on the far north coast.
