MELBOURNE - Jun 8/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low in the southern Tasman Sea will move northwards along the South Coast tonight and weaken. A strong high pressure ridge, which is currently cradling this low, will then become the dominant feature across NSW from Monday. This ridge will gradually move northwards to be oriented along the South Coast by Tuesday night, with a south to southeasterly airstream to its north. A weak trough is expected to move into the west of the state during Thursday and Friday. Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers along the coast, more widespread along central and far southern parts of the coastal fringe, with some possible locally heavy falls. Isolated thunder on the coastal fringe between about Newcastle and Taree. Isolated showers also over the southern and northern ranges. Fine and mostly sunny west of the Divide. Early fog and frost patches about the tablelands. Southwest to southeasterly winds, fresh to strong along the coastal fringe.Monday 9 JuneScattered showers on the South Coast and adjacent ranges, extending northwards during the morning to reach central parts of the coast and adjacent ranges during the afternoon and evening while easing in the south. Isolated showers along the northern coastal fringe. Fine and mostly sunny remainder. Early frost patches about the tablelands. East to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 10 JuneIsolated showers on the coast and adjacent ranges, more widespread along the northern coastal fringe, and clearing from the south during the day. Fine and partly cloudy inland. East to southeast winds, tending northeasterly in the west.Wednesday 11 JuneIsolated showers along the north coast, with the chance of showers over the far northern ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere along the coast, mostly sunny inland. East to southeasterly winds, turning northeasterly in the south.Thursday 12 JuneIsolated showers on the far north coastal fringe. Cloud increasing over the western inland, but remaining fine remainder.
