MELBOURNE - Jun 7/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A strong high pressure system is located near Adelaide and a low pressure system is developing over the Tasman Sea. The high will extend a ridge across Victoria today as it moves southeastwards, reaching the Tasman Sea on Monday. The ridge will remain across southeastern Australia until the middle of the week. Forecast for the rest of SundayScattered showers in the southeast, falling as snow above 1300 metres at first. Isolated showers and drizzle over remaining southern and mountain areas clearing by the afternoon. Dry in the north. Morning fog patches. A cool day with moderate southerly winds, fresh near the East Gippsland coast.Monday 9 JuneWidespread morning frost inland. Isolated showers over East Gippsland, scattered in the far east but easing during the day and clearing by evening. Dry and mostly sunny elsewhere. A cool to mild day with light winds.Tuesday 10 JuneMorning fog and frost patches inland. Isolated morning showers in the far east, otherwise a fine, cool to mild, and mostly sunny day. Light to moderate northerly winds.Wednesday 11 JuneMorning fog and frost patches inland.
